Saint John Ambulance Ottawa Dog Therapy Program(saint Johns Ambulance)?

Dog therapy program(saint johns ambulance)? - saint john ambulance ottawa

For a few years since I heard about the program of therapy dogs, I wanted my 4yrs old Siberian Husky. Well last week was a newspaper article about the St. Johns Ambulance Therapy Dog Program. He said she had an internship in my hometown.

I want to go really to prove, but I am a little afraid. You see, Rex is really good with people he loves, so I wanted to commit, because they put a smile on the faces of everyone he will bring. The only thing is that the courts are not private, it is other people and other dogs. Well, Rex rarely or never fought with another dog to get, but not with other dogs. I fear that the presence of mixed up your experiment and it will act differently.

I do not get to test and then not ... Maybe I need a boost of confidence, and I never know if I have not tried.

You think I should try to pass the test? How should I prepare?

Any form of aggression dog disqualify your dog from a treatment program, "some" dogs or not. You never know when one of those "some" dogs go with you.

If you're really serious about this, seek professional training and submit to the test, if your dog has no aggression issues.

Work therapy is a worthwhile effort, and I encourage you, may the best thing to do if you plan to do. Better for you.

Do not even think about it, since you say your dog gets along well with other dogs. There are usually several other dogs present at the sight of the therapy. Part of the proof lies in the interaction of dog with other dogs. I guarantee you, the test will fail if there is no difficulty.

Weather or the test is not taken.

Until we meet with an attack dog, not a dog for therapeutic work.

Now, not as proof that your dog is required to successfully meet and greet a friendly dog.

If the work of therapy is really something to try, I suggest you put this dog in a real type of training involved (through a club obedience AKC) and is not involved clicker. If he is really an attack dog trained is gone.
